Hi everybody. I've been meaning to document my thoughts, but I've been busy getting everyone organized. (You know how it is when you're training new parents.) I've been getting used to my new "staff", and aside from some minor indignities I really like them all.
We're still in the process of deciding what they should call me. Officially, I'm called Alexander but I've never been one to stand on pretense. A nickname makes them feel like I'm "one of the gang" so I'm letting them call me Alexander, Alex, or even Xander. Lex has been used on a couple occasions but it has a bit of an "evil genius" feel to it. (...no need to advertise it)
My staff has adopted various titles such as "mom", "dad", "grandpa', and "grandma". I thought it was odd at first, but it seems to be some sort of military rank system. (I learned about rank systems from watching the Discovery channel.) "Mom" seems to correspond to "General" and the others rank somewhere around the "Lieutenant" or "Sergeant" level. I think of myself as a benevolent dictator so I try not to be too heavy handed. However, you need to let everyone know who's in charge.
Well, I'm getting a little hungry so it's time to use "the scream" to summon my staff and get some milk. I'll write more as I get some free time.

Swingin'
Yesterday Daddy bought me a kick-ass swing at Target. I've been in it all day. It's like an extreme sport for babies. I can swing side to side or front to back. I can listen to rain, waves, or music. Mostly, I just sleep in it.
Grandma & Grandpa Harms are visiting again. They sure are easy to entertain. I don't have to do anything but glance their way occasionally and they're happy as clams. Grandma's nice but she sings a lot. I don't think she knows a lot of songs. She tends to sing what she's thinking. Is this normal?
